    на вечере / вечером

I have one more question. What's the difference between "на вечере" and "вечером"?

На вечере means "at the party", вечером - just "in the evening".
This sense of the word вечер primarily was of high society and originates from the French soirée.

I think I have to specify what kind of party is meant. Вечер usually means some special kind of soirée: school, literature, musical, dancing, commemoration and so on. An evening party is what is called вечеринка, this word is a bit outdated already, but is proper Russian (originally вечерина - slag/hen party (modern Russian - мальчишник, девичник)). Probably this was the reason for this calque вечер < soirée.
