    Furyo

The 1983 film Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence is known in Japanese
as both Senjou no Merii Kurisumasu and Furyo .

Per Wiki, here is the title in Japanese:
    戦場のメリークリスマス

    Please explain. Thanks.

    Re: Furyo

As for 戦場のメリークリスマス, I suppose a good literal translation would be: "A Merry Christmas on the Battlefield."

Furyo, or 虜, means "captive; prisoner of war."

What exactly would you like explained?
Athenis habito, sed non Athenis illis
