    Case Endings (MSA)

I am very new to Arabic, so bear with me . . . . .

I generally understand the concept of case endings, when to use them, and how to use them.

My major confusion regards pronunciation. Do you pronounce them or not?

I have read some sources suggesting that in every day Arabic (as much as MSA is part of "every day Arabic") case endings are not pronounced. Other sources have suggested the exact opposite.

Any thoughts? If for example, if I was listening to a "normal", MSA-based newscast, would I hear case endings? If I was trying to talk to someone in MSA, would I use case endings?

    Thanks.
