    Persian: Sentence from Chubak

Could someone help with this sentence from Chubak's story Yahya. I've included the first part (chandbar . . ) for completeness, but it's the phrase between the dash and "Daily News" that I need help with.

چندبار صحیح و بدون زحمت - پشت سر هم پیش خودش گفت : ‘دیلی نیوز! دیلی نیوز

My virtual keyboard won't let me finish the sentence properly, but that should be enough. Yahya is memorising the newspaper's name as he leaves its office.

    Many thanks.

What is your question? Do you want a translation?

I think. this is what the sentences mean.

A few times, correctly and without any trouble, he said (looking) to the front and behind himself "Daily News! Daily News!".

As far as I know, at least in contemporary Iranian Persian پشت سر هم does not mean "looking to the front and behind" but rather "successively, one after another" so here I would translate the sentence as follows:

A few times, correctly and effortlessly, he repeated to himself: "Daily News! Daily News!"

پشت سر هم = پي در پي = بطور متوالي = repeatedly
