    become faster/speed up/accelerate (intransitive)

I couldn't find any one-word Hebrew verb on the Internet that corresponds to "become faster/accelerate (intransitive)/increase one's speed". Does it exist? If not how do you say it?

Can it be used intransitively as in "the car sped up"?

I agree with tFighterPilot, but I want to comment that the this verb is a little bit technical or phisical, and in coloquial most of the people will tend to say להגביר את המהירות Or לנסוע מהר יותר, though להאיץ is shorter and better.
