break the glass off stone, on stone, of stone?

    Hello,

I how do you say "break a glass of stone, on stone or off stone", if you hit your glass on the stone and you break it?

"I broke my glass on a stone."
"There are no rules in English, only guidance. Some guidance looks like a rule; it probably isn't."
