I don't about technico-commercial
but I would think "ingénieur commercial" would be "commercial engineer" but if you would explain what technico-commercial is in french may be it would help for the translation |

Isn't it "Sales engineer" instead? ("commercial" is the English word for "Publicité") |

sales and commercial
You are both right. Depends on the context, a sales engineer is someone who is specialized in the technical aspects of the product being sold and a commercial engineer is more into sales techniques and market fluctuations. Un ingénieur technico-commercial is the former--a sales engineer while un ingénieur commercial is the latter.

For clavie who wanted to know what is a technico-commercial in french
A techico-commercial or ingénieur-commercial have got the same job....it means they have got technical and selling knowledges which enable them to sell technical products......the difference is about study level, technico-commercial is "bac+2" 2years Univesity and Ingénieur-commercial is "bac+3 à +5" 3years or more.... As well an other one is: "Ingénieur d'affaires" in french is an "ingénieur-commercial" with significant working experiences Thanks to all of you for your translations into english which helped me a lot |

In Belgium, every "technico commercial" is bac+3 and a "Ingénieur-commercial" is bac+5 I'm also wondering if we could call a Technico Commercial a "Technical salesman" ? What are your thoughts about this? |

I think that's a good suggestion. While I agree with sales engineer as discussed above - ie. if you have an engineering degree. However, I do feel Technical Sales Rep. (Representative) is more usual in Americian English or technical salesman in UK English is a better translation.
