    Hola Foreros,

Me podrían decir si lo siguiente está expresado correctamente en Inglés?

A los padres de familia les toca gastar una suma considerable de dinero en los útiles escolares de sus hijos durante todo el año.

    Mi intento:

The heads of the household have to spend a considerable/ great amount of money on his children's /sons' school tools/implements during all the year.

Tools/implements meaning notebooks, textbooks, colors, pencils etc.

    De antemano muchas gracias,

Me parece adecuado, pero que tal así:

The parents have to spend a considerable amount of money on their children's school implements such as notebooks, books and else, during all the year.

    Saludos !

Parents spend a considerable amount of money on their children's school supplies all throughout the year.

Items is not necessarily incorrect, it can be used sometimes. But school supplies is the most commonly heard way to say it.
