    я приеду or я приезжаю

As you can see on this image http://d.pr/i/dJgN where two short dialogues are shown, the receptionist makes a question using imperfective form, but the customer answers with the perfective one.

    Why? Thank you.

Imperfective form in the question sounds more politely. If it were В котором часу вы приедете it would sound a bit rude and not appropriate from the receptionist.
The same is for the reply:both forms are possible, but perfective sounds more insistent.

The perfective here refers to result "when will you arrive?", while the imperfective refers to intention - "when are you arriving?" (the same usage of present as in English). So, naturally, the latter is more appropriate for a receptionist. You can expect to hear the former in an informal situation.
