    Hello,
I came across this sentence, in a famous grammar book :
I'm in two minds whether to put in four batteries or two.

is אם להכניס "proper" Hebrew ?

To me it sounds OK, and that is how I would say it.

Does this construction need 'or' or is it fine to say without?

    It is fine without 'Or'.

Isn't there any purist that require אם be followed by a sentience, and not an infinitive ?
For some reason, it doesn't sound very biblical to me :)

Is that sentence fine as well ?

    He
I didn't even notice that it's "אם" and not "האם". I think it should be "האם".
What bothers me more is the punctuation here. I think this qualifies as "a short" maamar musgar so it doesn't need a comma or quotation marks. What about the question mark?

    Other suggestions

It should be "האם" as the English version would be "whether" and not "if" (אם).
