اِنـطـق ('ntag) (stress on --tag) "Gulf" Arabic

This word, in the imperative, means SIT DOWN (or rather, in rude USA speech: SIDDOWN!!----flap the "DD")

Is this term used in other dialects or at least understood by them? How rude is it really? Should I "avoid" using it?

    Any comments appreciated.

I don't think انطق or انطم are known outside of Saudi Arabia, specifically central Saudi Arabia. I wouldn't recommend that you use انطق or its derivatives except in a self-deprecating way with close friends, e.g. أبنطقّ في البيت هالويكند.
