بربين

    I understand that the above word is the name of a herb or spice. What is the English translation, please ?

    Arabic-العربية
    I don't think it's a standard Arabic word. That being said this picture could be of some interest to you.

    But is that a photograph of it ? If so, one possibility has been eliminated, namely that بربين might be an Arabic rendering of "verbena," or the French "vervaine." The latter has a long, narrow leaf, not in the least like the one in the photograph.
