جهات القتال

    Could somebody help me understand the phrase جهات القتال in the following context?

    ويبدو أن رؤية المخابرات العسكرية السورية الشديدة الخبرة بحقائق الوضع داخل مراكز صناعة القرار وجهات القتال في سوريا تؤكد المبدأ التالي: «أن مخاطر نظام الدكتور بشار الأسد ومتاعب بقائه أقل بكثير من مخاطر حكم التيارات الإسلامية المتشددة عقب سقوط هذا النظام».
    And the view of the Syrian military intelligence, which is highly experienced, on the situation inside the decision making centres and the * in the country seems to stress the following principle: the dangers of Dr Bashar al-Assad’s regime and the difficulties presented by its survival are much smaller than the dangers presented by the government of hard-line Islamic movements that would follow the fall of this regime

    It doesn't like the author means the different sides fighting, which is how I originally read the term. Rather, looks to me like it is similar in meaning to the term جبهات القتال.

    The author meant "جبهات" obviously :)

    Thanks Crimson-Sky - I thought so to until I googled "جهات القتال" and actually came up with a few relevant hits. I guess it's a common typo. :)
