On al-jazeera, a commentator said that the decrees in Egypt were just a ""زوبة في فنجان""

What is meant by this phrase?

It must've been "زوبعة في فنجان", i.e. "a storm in a teacup".

    Hi Finland,

Maybe you are right. But I also see in a google search that the phrase comes up pretty often, for example "يعني التغطييه الاعلاميه ومحاسبة المتسببين كلها زوبه في فنجان"
I've seen it pretty often for it to be a typo I think.

It is definitely زوبعة. Having it written wrong in many places doesn't make it right as lots of Arab can't write their own language right unfortunately.

Yes, but a "storm in a (tea)cup" is also a common expression. :)

Hello it's a common mistake, a literal translation, in arabic we should say جعل من الحبة قبة
