いつも母のようにしたう先生と一緒でした

    Hi there,


    I'm a very beginner in Japanese, and I stumbled into this sentence:


    いつも母のようにしたう先生と一緒でした。


    I understand the words separatly, but I'm not sure about the overall sense.
    I think it means something like "It was with my teacher, who was like a mother" but I'm not sure about it.
    Could someone help me?

    If it is the first person, it is as follows:
    (私は)いつも母のようにしたう先生と一緒でした
    I was always with my teacher, who was like a mother.

    Other possibilities are:
    (彼は)いつも母のようにしたう先生と一緒でした
    He was always with his teacher, who was like a mother.
    (娘は)いつも母のようにしたう先生と一緒でした
    My daughter was always with her teacher, who was like a mother.
    ...
