    Hello again,
I've come across this pattern more than several times, and I'm wondering what the function of it is. For example,
Is 'no ka' a colloquial relative of 'no desu ka'?

のか? is direct and rough expression.
の? のかい? etc. are rather indirect and conversational.
のですか? is formal and polite one.
