    Hi all,

I'm translating a recipe into English and wondered how many teaspoons of baking powder are in a sachet?

I would put sachet, but as far as I'm aware, we tend to use teaspoons rather than sachets. I've read that it might be 2, but can anyone confirm?

    Thanks!

A sachet of French Levure chimique usually contains 10 grams of baking powder, the quantity needed for 500 grams of flour.

Il semble qu'un sachet pèse 11 g, je vais chercher ma balance et peser 1 puis 2 cuillères à café de levure et je reviens....

Wow, thanks to everyone that went away and measured a sachet, I hope you make something good with it!

So that's either 2 teaspoons or, more precisely, 3 level teaspoons.

    Thanks again,
    GG

    Hi petit1

I think a coffee spoon is slightly smaller than a teaspoon,

Either way I've found this site which equates 1 teaspoon to 5g of baking powder, which makes 2 teaspoons per sachet (at 10-11g per sachet).

It's usually either teaspoons or desert spoons in BE.
