    Hi there,

I would like to know whether "a wide array of different (X)" sounds a bit redundant to your native ears. I'm using the expression for an essay, so it's ok. if it sounds formal.
Also, I do know that "a wide array of" (without 'different') is good enough, but I was wondering whether I could use the former option without sounding too wordy.

    Thank you,

    Bradshaw

Could you possibly give us more context, please, Bradshaw? I will find it difficult to say anything helpful until you do.

    Yes, sorry about that.

I was thinking about "a wide array of (different) responses"

    Thanks

I find the noun a bit strange in that context. I'm more used to seeing in the sense of display or arrangement. I'd be more likely to say variety her, I think.

I think the different would be redundant, whichever noun you choose.
