¿Has intendado traducirlo primero?

    Saludos.

I am also looking for a translation of "plant community."

    Original:
During their field study, students will be learning about plant communities such as wetlands, oak savannahs, pine and deciduous forests, and prairies.

    My attempt:

It seems like "plant communities" are characterized by certain plants that coexist together, kind of like an ecosystem, minus the animals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plant_community

Thanks for the background information, Wisconsinite. :)

Here are a couple of suggestions:
    Comunidad vegetal
    Comunidad de flora
    Comunidad botánica

Maybe a native speaker of Spanish can corroborate whether any of these would work, or suggest an alternative.
