advertising - anunciarse

    Hola,
    Estoy traduciendo un doc de mercadotecnia y por supuesto ya llegué al punto de advertising vs publicity que en español ambos son publicidad.

    Puedo traducir advertising como anunciarse / anuncios???
    Ejemplo:
    Consumers understand the intent of advertising; they know that the goal is to sell them something. As a result, everything said in advertising (and in sales promotion, direct marketing and packaging) is viewed with at least some cynicism and sometimes with a great deal of mistrust.
    You should not attempt to compare the publicity received with your advertising costs.

    Los consumidores entienden la intención de los anuncios, saben que la meta.... Como resultado, todo lo que se dice en los anuncios .....
    Nunca intente comparar la publicidad recibida con el costo de anunciarse.

    Alguna mejor idea?
