    Term: Agnotology

Your definition or explanation: The study of culturally-induced ignorance or doubt. A person who studies culturally-induced ignorance is known as an agnotologist.

Example: The proliferation of mass ignorance in American culture takes agnotology to explain the reason so many people are misled by right-wing talk shows

One or more places you have seen the term:

I realise that this word is in circulation. There is even a book with it as its title. But I wonder whether it is too late suggest that if you really want to fight against “ignorance” then you should not do so with a word which itself betrays ignorance of the rules of English word formation (to say nothing of Greek). There is no –t- in agnosis. Why not try agnosiology?
