    This is from the Souad Massi song "Raoui"

    احكي يا الـراوي احكي حكاية، مادابيك تيكون ريواية، احكي لي على ناس زمان
    احكي لي على ألف ليلة و ليلة و على لونجة بنت الـغولة، وعلى وليد الـسلطان

    حاجيت’ك ماجيت’ك
    و ادّي’نا بعيد من هاذ الـدنيا

    What does the phrase in the title mean? Is it an idiomatic Algerian phrase?

    Hello!

    You hear this phrase in the beginnig of fairy tales and other stories. A bit like "Once upon a time".

    Frankly, I don't know its etymology.

    the word أحجية is an MSA word means "riddle"
