    Hey there, all of you.
    I have this doubt
Is it anesthesiologist or anesthetist ?

    Thanks in advance

I have the impression that anesthesist is anyone administering anesthetics (could be a trained nurse), while anesthesilogist is a physician who has a specialization in anesthesiology.

My father refers to himself as an anesthesiologist--this implies that in addition to anesthetizing patients (the job of an anesthetist), he also has an MD with a specialty in anesthesiology.

Compare the term to a "nurse anesthetist", someone who can legally anesthetize people in some hospitals, but who does not have an MD with a specialty in anesthesiology.
