    Hello,
can I use imaginary animal or fictious animal?

Mi riferisco ad alcune rappresentazione pittoriche in cui appaiono animali immaginari. Ma non so quale dei due termini usare e perchè...

    Grazie

"Fantastic animals" might actually be a better term. In this sense "fantastic" doesn't mean "great" but "borne of fantasy." Ficticious doesn't work. Immaginary would imply an animal you are thinking of but haven't yet described, defined, or rendered. I'm not sure if others will agree, though.
