In the US, business correspondence envelopes are commonly addressed in one of several ways:

    John Smith
    Company Name
    Street Address
    City, State, Zip code

    Attn: John Smith
    Company Name
    Street Address
    City, State, Zip code

    Company Name
    Street Address
    City, State, Zip code

Attn: John Smith (in lower-left corner of envelope)
What is the commonly accepted italian form for addressing an envelope to a specific person within a company?

    Giovanni Rossi
    Company Name
    Street Address
    City, State, Zip code

    Attenzione: Giovanni Rossi
    Company Name
    Street Address
    City, State, Zip code

    Something entirely different?

    depends:
    - on the envelope, never use "attenzione" (rather, btw, "alla cortese attenzione" or "c.a."): either you put the name, if the person is the actual addressee or only the company name, if you are suggesting that the letter is directed to the person;
    - inside the letter, you can use "c.a." or "alla cortese attenzione" if the letter is for the organisation rather than for the person. E.g.: you are writing to your lawyer in a law firm, you write the name of the attorney; you are writing to the IT office, you write the name of the office, and if you know the name of person in charge of the issue, you write "alla cortese attenzione"

    We usually write:
    Nome della Società
    Via e numero
CAP (= zip code), città, provincia
Alla cortese attenzione di Giovanni Rossi
    Or
    Giovanni Rossi
    c/o Nome della Società
    Via e numero
CAP (= zip code), città, provincia
