I'm trying to translate the Spanish term "Aula Abierta" for the context of Secondary Education. I'll give an approximate definition of it and then I'd like you to tell me if you have a similar resource/class in your English-speaking countries and how you call them... Here in Catalonia, in Spain, an Aula Abierta gathers about 10 students in the second cycle of secondary education (14-16 year-olds) who have a disruptive behavior and are unwilling and unable to cope with the methodology of an ordinary class. They follow a special curriculum and have the possibility of spending 40% of their school-time in private enterprises or state venues (i.e. the town hall, a nursery school, etc.) The main objective is that they finish compulsory secondary school successfully... Do you think you could help me? Any comments will be helpful... Thank you very much!
