    Hi everyone,

Is there an equivalent in German for the English idiom 'back in the game'?

eg. 'the UK needs to get back in the game economically as competition from China increases'

eg. 'After a rocky patch, Eric was back in the game and running the department'

    Vielen Dank im Voraus!

You can say "jemand ist wieder zurück im Spiel" or "jemand kommt wieder zurück ins Spiel". Still, outside the context of sport this expression is not so very common.

If you talk of a politician you might say "jemand ist wieder zurück auf der politischen Bühne" etc.

Der Süden Europas muss "wirtschaftlich wieder auf die Beine kommen". (This is not quite the same, I know.)
