    Hello everyone,

I'm translating a cheese factory's profile and I don't know how to translate this expression.

The complete sentence is "siamo leader del settore dei banchi taglio della grande distribuzione organizzata".

It means their products are not sold on the supermarket shelves but at the counters where you can find i.e. fresh meat, fish, cheese, gastronomy products which are cut at the moment and not sold in standard packaging.

Does "we are leaders in the sector of counter-products for large-scale retail trade" make any sense?

    Thank you!

I think this might vary by region, but I think I'd say
We are leaders in the deli-counter trade servicing larger supermarket chains.
Deli here is short for delicatessen and is the most common word used for cheese and prepared meats. I don't know if that holds true for the U.K.

Thank you rrose17, your solution sounds very good to me. Let's see if any UK native agrees too.

Agree with Ron. "Deli-counter" works in the U.K. too. :)
