    Hi!

I want to translate this sentence into english and I am not sure which form is the correct one:

-Bilbao is the city in which milk is more expensive.

-Bilbao is the city in which milk is most expensive.

-Bilbao is the city in which milk is the most expensive.

    Which one would you use?

    Thanks in advance!

    The first one!

I would go with: Bilbao is the city in where milk is more expensive.

Con las otras dos lo que queres decir es que la leche es lo más caro de todo, no que en Bilbao la leche es más cara.

I'd normally say "Bilbao is the city where milk is most expensive". "In which" sounds formal.

I agree. If you say 'more expensive', it begs the question 'More expensive than what/where?'
    'In where' is not correct.

And what about Bilbao is the city where milk is the most expensive? Is it wrong? I am used to using always the most, so just most like in Bilbao is the city where milk is most expensive sounds a little bit strange to me....

editd --Con permiso: (I think you may have forgotten to cross out "in" when you changed "which" to "where")

Also: If you wanted to say "most expensive" would you use "el más caro"?

I think it depends on what you are comparing.

If you are comparing the price of milk in Bilbao to the price in several other cities, then you should use 'most'. If you are comparing it to only one other city, then you should use 'more'.

Compared to all the other cities, Bilbao is the city where milk is most expensive.
Compared to Barakaldo, Bilbao is the city where milk is more expensive.
