    Hi, everyone:

Could you tell me the difference between "bash“ and "party" when used with "birthday"?

    Best wishes

The difference is, I believe, the amount of noise you make during the event.

Other definitions of bash: 1. a big, exuberent party 2. a large or important social gathering.

"In Party of the Century, Deborah Davis tells of the now legendary Black and White Ball. Truman Capote threw the bash at Manhattan's Plaza Hotel on Nov. 28, 1966."
