I see a lot of examples of sentences that look odd to Dominicans on websites from Spain: "una falta botada [taken?] por Beckham" "El barco está botado [???]; ahora ya podemos navegar." En Santo Domingo, botado, means discarded or spilled. In Spain, it seems to mean many other things. I think I heard a horrible story about a woman being killed while she lay on the beach. I think the TVE report said "estaba botada" or something like that. This is how I would use it: ha botado [has spilled] toda la cerveza en la alfombra encuentras muebles botados [thrown out] casi nuevos How is botado used in your part of the world? Is it used for spilled?
