bow to/for me

    (1) Bow to me.
    (2) Bow for me.

    Hypothetically, the Queen says (1) or (2)?
    I thought (1), but recently heard someone say (2).

    (1) if she wants the adulation, (2) if she wants a demonstration. Hypothetically, a bowing teacher would say (2) to a student to see how the student's bowing technique was coming along.
