    I´m not sure what this means.

    During the meeting everyone started to tell jokes and our boss had to call us to task.

    Was that used right?

    Yes, it is correct. "Call to task" means to get back to work, or to get on with your work, or sometimes to assign a task.

    Thank you, folks. I forgot to ask for a good translation into Spanish. I can think of "llamar la atención" and "poner a trabajar", but not of a combination of both.
