I'm reading a text about the construction of a building whose main feature is that the whole structure leans, like the leaning tower of Pisa.

The 'concrete foreman' explains that there is a candle lever hanging - to calculate the difference (distance, degrees...) between floors, I think.

I googled the word but I can't still find out what does it exactly means and, the most important, a stablished translation into European Spanish.

I think the word is 'cantilever' (voladizo, ménsula).
