    Buen día,

Me encuentro traduciendo una carta de un niño y dice "a mi mamá le hicieron una cirugía para no tener más bebés y salió bien".... alguien me puede ayudar con esa frase???

Mi intento "My mother had a contraceptive surgery and everything went out well."

    Gracias!

Informally speaking, you could say "my mother was sterilized" or "my mother had her tubes tied". Formally it would be a laparoscopy for tubal ligation - or possibly a hysterectomy? The final phrase would be "everything turned out fine."
    Saludos!

    Hey Midwife Ann,
Actually the problem is that the child didn't say what did they exactly do to his mother to "sterelized" her..... I could say that she was sterelized, but isn't that too formal???
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
Not really. I guess if you were talking about a little kid, or about a letter to family members, or something equally informal, you could just say, "My mom had surgery so she wouldn't have any more children, and the operation went well." That way, you don't have to get into the details. Does that help?
