    Ciao ancora

    Ciao

For what it's worth, I've never heard it referred to as simply "the college process" before. "College applications process" is, in my opinion, both more common and more accurately descriptive.

I just came across this thread by chance and thought I would add a comment from another English speaker. "The college process" is definitely a short-hand term but immediately clear to students, parents and teachers here in the States.
    It
refers to the entire "college applications process" as Trentina pointed out, including up to a year or more of pre-planning, visits to college campuses, financial aid planning, etc. before any real application forms are even considered. Here's one example: http://thecollegeprocess.com/
