comma after 'i.e.' [abbreviation]: Laura, i.e. my sister ...

    Hi, I´d like to know if I hace to put a comma after i.e.
    Example:

    Laura, i.e. my sister ...

    Since the phrase translates into English as "that is", I would punctuate it the same way I would punctuate the words. Thus, in this case I would place a comma there.
