"congratulate for success"

    "We congratulate you for your success."
    Is it OK?
    Instead of 'for', can I use 'on'?
    Which is most appropriate?

    As you have guessed, 'on' is correct here.

    "We congratulate you for succeeding in IAS exam."

    I see you are decided upon using 'in'. In that case try, 'Congratulations for your success in the IAS exam'.

    Drawing on the dictionary entry on congratulate, it seems to me the choice of preposition - on or for - depends on the reason for offering your congratulations:
