Sabes el álgebra - You know algebra

Is it ever possible to use conocer here? What are the main differences between saber and conocer?

    ¿Sabes álgebra?
    Do you know algebra?

    ¿Sabes/conoces el álgebra de Bool?
Do you know (are you familiar with) Boolean algebra?

    ¿Conoces el álgebra?
This sounds odd to me. Others may feel comfortable with it.

Here is a very good summary: by Xerinla

Everything would be possible given some context, but the way things are now, the answer to your question is simply:

    ¿Sabes álgebra?

I hope Xerinla's explanation is good; I wouldn't know now how to explain it. :)

I'll give you some examples though. Maybe you can see a pattern:
