    ¿Cómo podría traducir en inglés "conseller"? Me aparece en varias ocasiones en un texto sobre la comunidad valenciana y no sé muy bien como traducirlo.

    -Conseller de Infraestructuras y Transportes
    -Consellera de Cultura y Deportes

    Agradezco cualquier sugerencia.

    Hi Crisvlc

    I have come across the same problem when translating the Galician equivalent conselleiro/a, and I have opted to use the expression "Minister of the Galician Government" or "Galician Minister...".

    In this case it would be "Valencian Minister" or "Minister of the Valencian Government"

    Wait for other suggestions, though

    Cheers

    Miguel Antonio's suggestion is a good solution. Just make sure it's clear you are referring to a regional government. In the US, of course, there are no ministries nor ministers, but the reading public knows that foreign governments have them. As an alternative, "the head of the regional government's Department of Public Works and Transportation", etc.

    Hasta donde entiendo, Conseller no español, sino catalán (valenciano) en este caso.

    Je, je. Es cierto. En Castilla-La Mancha, por ejemplo, sería Consejero. Pero el principio es el mismo (y Miguel Antonio cita el caso de Galiza).

    Conseller. = Consejero.

    En catalán y creo que en valenciano también.

    Saludos. :)

    Galiza is wrong spelling. GALICIA is the right one!

    Yes, Galicia might be the better-known version, for a text in English, although there is the possiblity of confusion with the regions of Southeastern Poland and Western Ukraine of the same name.
