    "It is well recognized that insulin resistance develops on a continuum"...

    Es bien sabido que la resistencia a la insulina se desarrolla en un proceso continuo

    Sin embargo no se si es la palabra correcta, pues para continuum he encontrado otros significados.

    el contexto de la frase es esta: "It is well recognized that insulin resistance develops on a continuum; thus one can argue with the imperfect use of cut-off points to differentiate high vs. low insulin sensitivity phenotypes"

    Es biena sabido que la resistencia a la insulina se desarrolla en un continuo...
    Continuo es un sustantivo.

    Sí, por algún motivo misterioso, la RAE no puso esta acepción de la palabra en el DRAE, pero sí en el DPD:
