Hola foreros! My fiancee is from Mexico D.F. She uses the word "Cristiano" and "Católico" as mutually exclusive terms; someone is Cristiano OR Católico. That is, "Cristiano" is for Christians who are non-catholic (Protestant), and "Católico" is for Catholics. However, this leaves no term for "Christian," the grouping of both Catholics and Protestants (as opposed to Jewish, Buddhist, etc.). Is this a correct use of the term "Cristiano" in Mexico, or is this a misuse that reflects her lack of education? Thanks!
