cruce de cuentas

    Si yo debo a Juan $400 y Juan me debe $100, podemos hacer (un) cruce de cuentas y le pago a Juan sólo $300. Cómo se dice esto en inglés? To offset accounts? Tengo un documento en el que tengo que traducir la expresión: "las partes del Consorcio suscribieron un certificado de cruce de cuentas" y no logro ponerlo en inglés.
    Any help please?

    Are you sure? Según tu ejemplo, eso es compensación, el cruce de cuentas, hasta donde comprendo, se refiere a aquellas que no se pueden conciliar

    What is described in the original post would be called an offset of accounts in English.

    Iuris, aquí en Colombia se llama cruce de cuentas al ejemplo que di. Ricardo, since I couldn't find a way to match "offset accounts" with the word certificate, I ended up writing "certificate of settlement of accounts". Would that be close?
