    Hi,

I would like to translate: "decoder un jeu de mots, une accroche publicitaire".

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Kevin

As usual, giving the full context would help. But a "un jeu de mots" is often simply translated as "a play on words". "Une accroche publicitaire" could be "a promotional hook". Hope this helps.

Would catcher, the translation given in WR dictionary for accroche in the field of advertising, work too?
Is it more A.E. than B.E.?

Not really. Certainly not in BE where a catcher is someone who catches something like a ball.

Thanks a lot for your help.
But how would you translate "decoder" (meaning: comprendre le sens, decripter un message dans une relation emeteur-recepteur)...??!

    Thanks!!
(AE and BE stand for basic/advanced english?)

AE and BE stand for American and British English respectively. As for "decoder", I would use "decipher".
