I know she was half italian, but when I heard Gigi l'amoroso recently, I kind of missed something.
I've only been studying italian in night school since last September, so I may be totally wrong here, but some sounds didn't sound very italian to me, more like french, or even dutch. E.g. the o's and e's sounded more closed than I expected.
    Maybe a regional accent (napolitano?)?

Yes, it was the italian version of the song :)
