Hi, Cairenn: "dar en el seno de la familia" is not comparable to, say, "dar en el blanco (hit the target)" and is no more a linguistic unit than, say, "veces las soluciones". "Dar" refers back to "lucha", i.e. "the battle has to be waged..."; whilst "en el seno de la familia", a frequent juxtaposition, refers to "the bosom of the family" or simply "within/inside the family".

So: "... the battle ... has to be waged within the family"

    Trust this helps!

En este caso el significado de seno coincidiría con la sexta acepción del DRAE:

    6. m. Parte interna de algo. El seno del mar. El seno de una sociedad.

    Within/inside (the family).
