    The expression "das una de cal y otra de arena"
    means that you are alternatively firm then soft in your treatment of someone.

    This phrase das solo una de cal y dos de arena is building on that expression to say that you are alternatively firm then soft but your treatment is never balanced, you're more one than the other.
