dates

    I have trouble with dates when I am talking about laws.

    [...] instituted by state law no. 54 of (the) 2nd (of) March 1976.

    and

    State law no. 563 of (the) 21st (of) November 1992 assigns the responsability for.....


    How are the dates written correctly?

    I would write the dates like this:

    [...] instituted by state law no. 54 of 2nd March 1976.

    and

    State law no. 563 of 21st November 1992 assigns the responsibility for...

    There is no need to write 'of' and 'the' in between the month and day.
