    Good afternoon to you. Could you please help to say in English: los chicos declamaron unas poesias para las mujeres. Youth recited some poetries to women. I am not sure that this is correct so please feel free for any correction.

    The young men recited some poetry to the women.

    "Youths" isn't really used much nowadays.
    "Poetry" must be singular - not plutal.

    So is it better to say kids or children....?(to say los chicos, los muchachos).
    Now it is clear that is clear that poetry is singular. Thank you.

    Yes, it depends on how formal you want to be and how old they are.
    "Boys" might be better if there are no chicas among them.

    Poetry es poesía como género literario: teatro, poesía, prosa-theatre, poetry, prose

    Pero poesías sería poems. The boys recited some poems

    En español poesía=poema cuando se trata de una poesía en concreto, como 'the red wheelbarrow', no de poesía como género
