Yo escribí: When practicing the medical legal necropsy it was established that xxx died as a consequence of: brain mass destruction by firearm proyectile.

Yo diría destruction of brain tissue or brain tissue destruction.

Cerebral mass or brain mass podría indicar un tumor. Mi intento:

Upon completion of the forensic autopsy*, it was established that xxx died as a consequence of brain tissue destruction from a gunshot wound.

*medicolegal necropsy is a very old term
** proyectil = bullet; but in this case, this is repetitive - gunshot wound is sufficient.
